Pi Network drops by 25.7%, breaking its previous upward streak that brought the price of the token over the $1 threshold. Its trading volume recently surged by 3.7% in the past 24 hours.

A lot of excitement has been created around the Pi Network (PI) by traders and investors worldwide. It appears that the fact that Open Mainnet is now launched and is gaining a rapidly-developing community there is more and more interest into how the future price of Pi Network could be like.

Bitcoin (BTC) continues to lead the market, trading at $103,780 after gaining a percentage point in the past 24 hours and 9.77% over the week. Ethereum ( ETH) followed closely, rising 4.71% on the day and 37.83% across the week to $2,600.40.
Meanwhile, the 24-hour trading volume across the market rose 4.90% to $137.7 billion, indicating increased investor activity. Among top daily movers, pi network (PI) soared 49.86%, followed by casper network (CSPR) at 47.96% and peanut the squirrel (PNUT) at 39.10%. On the downside, Ultima dropped 14.42%, the steepest decline of the day.

This comes after April saw an entire month of consolidation, with the Pi price in a tight range between $0.4 and $0.8.

Meanwhile, bitcoin holder Strategy missed earnings expectations late Thursday but raised its outlook for its bitcoin gain this year. Elsewhere, Morgan Stanley reportedly aims to add cryptocurrency trading to its E*Trade platform, and SoFi announced plans this week to bring back crypto investing. Other crypto firms including Coinbase are also pursuing bank licenses.

Despite the current consolidation near $1,800, the Pectra upgrade's enhancements could provide the necessary momentum for Ethereum to break through key resistance levels. If successful, this could lead to a bullish trend, with some analysts predicting potential price targets ranging from $3,000 to $4,000 in the medium term

As Bitcoin gains momentum, the opposite action by Pi spooks many of its holders.

While most of the crypto market is green on this Monday morning, the Pi Network (PI) price continues to tumble, with no end to its three-month downtrend seemingly in sight.
PI is down 2.2% overnight while BTC (0.4%), XRP (2.6%), SOL (2.3%) and ADA (3.4%) are all in the green. The only other notable major cap crypto in the red, alongside PI, is TRX, down 1.7%.
However, the Tron native token is 6% since the beginning of April, while PI is down a staggering 25% for the month, marking it one of the worst-performing crypto tokens in April.

On the daily chart, bitcoin (BTC) exhibits a strong bullish trend after breaking free from a prolonged downtrend, finding significant support near the $74,434 level. Volume activity has increased notably since mid-April, indicating renewed buying interest as the price propelled upward. Immediate resistance looms at $95,857, a point that, if surpassed with strong volume, could catalyze an accelerated rally. Conversely, support zones near $88,000 to $90,000 present critical levels for bulls to defend.
