Everyone found some excuse, like lax supervision, to gloss over the matter. Zhu Bajie and Sha Seng felt it was too dark, and helplessly, one hid in Gao Lao Zhuang while the other dove into the River of Sand. Only Wukong persisted in justice, slaying demons and monsters all the way while escorting his master. As a result, this attracted extreme dissatisfaction from the Heavenly Court, which reached an agreement with the Tathagata. They said, we can safely send Tang Seng to Chang'an, but you must deal with that troublesome Sun Wukong. The Tathagata agreed, and under a series of conspiratorial operations, Sun Wukong was defeated and trapped under the Five Finger Mountain, while Tang Seng abandoned Wukong and traveled alone to Chang'an. After completing the preaching in Chang'an and enjoying the glory and wealth, he passed away. Thus, 500 years passed, and Wukong finally escaped from under the Five Finger Mountain, silently turning the situation upside down. The Heavenly Court, forced by circumstances, had to promise to make Zhu Bajie the Marshal of the Heavenly Pavilion and appoint Sha Seng as the General of the Curtain, on the condition that they must eliminate Sun Wukong. In the end, because of brotherly strife, a disheartened Wukong sought out Patriarch Bodhi, and after gaining enlightenment, Wukong sealed his cultivation, threw the Ruyi Jingu Bang into the East Sea, transforming it into the Dinghai Shenzhen, and returned to Flower Fruit Mountain, living a mundane life with the monkeys and their offspring, eventually turning into a stone at the top of Flower Fruit Mountain. Isn’t it a sudden realization? No one ever told you that the real Journey to the West is meant to be viewed in reverse, because only by looking at it in reverse can you understand the so-called truth of this world, only by looking at it in reverse can you comprehend how they laid out their plans and how they lured you into the game, and finally how they secured victory.
