UK Prime Minister Starmer plans to pressure Trump for a reduction in steel tariffs.

Jin10 reported on July 25 that, according to the Financial Times, U.S. President Trump arrived in Scotland on Friday for a five-day golf trip, during which British Prime Minister Starmer will lobby Trump to accelerate the final protocol for lowering British steel tariffs. According to British officials, Starmer is expected to meet with Trump next Monday, where he will also push for closer bilateral relations, including a reduction in Scottish whiskey tariffs, in addition to steel tariffs. This trip to the Scottish golf resort is a warm-up for Trump's official state visit in September, during which he will stay at Windsor Castle with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The current priority for Downing Street is to facilitate the steel tariff protocol, and U.S. and British officials are currently discussing a plan to break the deadlock.
