Solana DePIN ecosystem's revenue hit a record high in April, with significant user growth across multiple projects.
Solana DePIN track revenue hits a new high, multiple projects perform outstandingly
The decentralized physical infrastructure network in the Solana ecosystem ( DePIN ) track achieved its best performance of the year in April. Data shows that the total revenue for the month reached $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new high for the year. This outstanding performance is mainly attributed to the steady growth of several key projects.
Despite record-high revenues, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly declined. Currently, major projects including Helium and Hivemapper maintain about 87,000 active contributors. Notably, in April, the number of contributors for smaller DePIN protocols significantly increased, with some projects experiencing growth rates exceeding 100%. In contrast, the number of contributors for larger protocols like Helium and Hivemapper has remained stable or slightly declined.
The following are the specific performances of some major DePIN projects:
Dabba Network
As a DePIN project exclusive to the Indian market, Dabba Network is committed to deploying Wi-Fi hotspots across India in collaboration with local cable operators. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled, reaching 8000 TB; during the same period, device sales increased by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Helium Mobile
As a mobile virtual network operator, Helium Mobile combines community-deployed Wi-Fi hotspots with cellular base stations from cooperative operators to provide users with low-cost mobile data and voice services. Following the launch of a free mobile plan, new subscription users surged by 125%, reaching 36,000. Revenue in April set a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%. Additionally, the average daily offload subscription volume increased by 65%, and the volume of offloaded data grew by 32%, both setting new historical records.
XNET
XNET is a decentralized mobile network based on Solana. In April, its data offloading volume continued to grow, with an average daily offloading increase of 16%, marking that XNET has maintained a steady upward trend in data offloading for 8 consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile in April still rose by 6%, reaching 732 people, setting a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes in the protocol close to 4 million and the number of users to nearly 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative check-in times have exceeded 300 million, showing that user stickiness remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models. In two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, with a total duration of 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to participate in the streamers' games in real-time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello is committed to monetizing idle resources. In April, its online duration doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Nosana
Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network focused on AI inference workloads. In April, its job completion volume and contributor rewards saw a slight increase, and GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project is expected to further drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar supports high-performance computing needs by connecting the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones to the network. In April, Sallar's dollar rewards increased by 27% month-on-month, reaching $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass provides data sources for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services through the idle bandwidth of users' devices. In April, Grass's data collection volume reached a new historical high of 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is a DePIN project based on Solana that collects aircraft data through ADS-B hardware deployed by users worldwide. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked by the Wingbits network has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, an increase of 7% and 29%, respectively; the number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Hivemapper
Hivemapper is a decentralized mapping network. In April, its monthly mapping mileage remained stable, and the AI-driven platform Beekeeper for fleet management was officially launched. Since February, the number of active map contributors for Hivemapper has stabilized at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view and geographic data through smartphones and dedicated devices. In April, user-driven mileage maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy is centered around a decentralized virtual power plant, integrating distributed energy resources into the Solana blockchain network. In April, its power output increased by 30%, and the newly launched Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, with growth expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
AmbiosNetwork has built the largest environmental monitoring DePIN in the world. In April, its cumulative user ecological data check-ins surpassed 2 million, with a 12% increase in ecological data check-in volume; the total number of platform users has increased to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN track showed strong growth momentum in April, with multiple projects making significant progress in user growth, data processing, and revenue. This trend reflects the potential and value of decentralized physical infrastructure networks gradually becoming apparent in practical applications.
