🏇Lochlan Hanover’s Next Chapter
On Monday, Lochlan Hanover returned to the yard from the training track with a concerning wheeze. That same day, our vet performed a dynamic scope, which revealed inflammation and swelling that has been affecting his breathing.
While his ongoing asthma treatments and sessions on the nebuliser have brought some relief, it has become clear that surgery is now the best path forward.
This wasn’t the plan for Lochlan’s breakout year, but like Kinda Lucky Lindy before him, Lochlan will undergo tieback surgery to help open his airway and restore full function. The good news is that his condition is not as severe as Lucky's was, meaning Lochlan is expected to be back on the track in around 4–6 weeks.
We’ve seen first hand the incredible transformation that surgery brought to Lucky and we’re confident that Lochlan will return even stronger, ready to chase down the big wins we know he’s capable of.
This is just a small detour on his journey. We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to seeing Lochlan finish the year with the brilliance and power we've always believed in.
