Is Dogecoin included in X Money's launch plan in 2025?
A source code leak has led to speculation that Elon Musk's X platform may soon launch its own payment system, called X Money. As rumors spread, they will grow, and here, the optimistic speculation or, in other words, the big question from the community is, will it integrate dogecoin and Bitcoin or not? CEO X Linda Yaccarino first announced in a post on December 31 that the system will start operating in 2025. However, X did not specify whether the leaked code shared by researcher Aaron Perris of MacRumors is true or not.
In the code, there is a line that says, 'X Money is not available in your state.' This has led some people, like entrepreneur Alex Finn, to think that the system can start in the United States without the approval of all 50 states.
Currently, X has a money transfer license in 39 states. When introduced, this feature will initially not include states such as New York, Hawaii, and Massachusetts, along with some other states. X Money aims to enable users to tip content creators on the platform. Speaking at X Spaces self-hosted, Finn declared that "X payments in one way or another will support cryptocurrencies", meaning that cryptocurrencies could underpin its infrastructure. He pointed out that cryptocurrency is one of the fastest ways to send money, making it a smart choice for the system. Speculation about the integration of cryptocurrency stems from Musk's historical support for digital assets and his deep love for Dogecoin, earning him the nickname Dogefather. Tesla, the electric car company, accepts Dogecoin for payment and holds $1.1 billion in Bitcoin, according to data from Arkham Intelligence. Therefore, with this solid history, it is natural to ask whether DOGE is part of the X Money system when it launches or not. Furthermore, if the rumors are true, X Money will launch in 39 licensed states. Excluded states include Alaska, Delaware, Indiana, and Vermont, as well as many other states. Finn pointed out that regulatory approvals could potentially delay nationwide rollout. However, while the leaked code has attracted attention, X has not confirmed its authenticity or shared detailed information about the payment system's features. Currently, it is still unclear whether popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or even Dogecoin are included in the system. DYOR! #Write2Earn #Write&Earn $BTC {spot}(BTCUSDT)
