The DePIN project is thriving in a multi-chain ecosystem, with mainstream public chains each having their own characteristics.

The current development status of DePIN projects on different blockchains

With the continuous expansion of the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) field, related projects on major public chains are showing a vigorous development trend. Although Solana has recently received much attention, some well-known DePIN projects have also begun to choose Arbitrum and Polygon as their infrastructure. At the same time, public chains focused on DePIN such as IoTex and Peaq, as well as public chains that focus on developing artificial intelligence like Near and Aptos, are also experiencing continuous growth.

Overview of Major DePIN Projects on L1/L2

  2. Render (GPU Network) Users can connect idle GPUs to complete rendering tasks and earn tokens. Currently, there are 3,783 nodes with a market value of approximately $2.35 billion.

  3. HiveMapper (Map Data Network) Users contribute data to the map through dash cams and receive rewards. With over 150,000 nodes and a market cap of approximately $169 million.

  4. DePHY (DePIN Framework) Provide an integrated DePIN development framework to simplify the project development process.

  5. HajimeAI (AI sidechain) Committed to introducing multi-intelligent body AI into the blockchain, users can provide computing resources for AI reasoning and training.

Polygon Ecosystem: High DePIN Activity

  1. DIMO (Vehicle Data Network) Users can create and share verified vehicle data streams to earn rewards. With about 110,000 nodes, the market value is approximately 32.9 million dollars.

  2. WIFI Map (WiFi Hotspot Network) Users can contribute WiFi hotspots to earn token rewards. There are 15 million nodes with a market value of approximately 11.13 million USD.

  3. Geodnet (Geographic Data Network) Users can connect GNSS antennas to contribute geographic data and earn rewards. There are 8,719 nodes with a market value of approximately 20.77 million USD.

Arbitrum Ecosystem: Focused on Mature Projects

  1. Livepeer (video streaming network) Nodes contribute CPU/GPU resources and network bandwidth to provide live or on-demand services for enterprises. With 100 nodes, the market value is approximately 483 million USD.

  2. Wicrypt (WiFi Sharing Platform) Users purchase dedicated devices to share WiFi and earn token rewards. There are 1832 nodes, with a market value of approximately 1.49 million USD.

IoTex Ecosystem: Sensor Applications as Main

  1. Wayru (WiFi network) Users can purchase dedicated devices or use existing WiFi devices to set up nodes and share WiFi to earn rewards.

  2. Inferix (GPU Network) Users can share idle GPU computing power to earn token rewards. There are currently 1533 nodes.

  3. PowerPod (Electric Vehicle Charging Pile Network) Users can purchase charging equipment and share to earn token rewards. The official version of the project has not been launched yet.

  4. Network3 (AI Network) Users can share bandwidth, computing power, and datasets to provide services for AI models and earn rewards. Currently in the testing phase.

Peaq Ecosystem: Rich Innovative Applications

  1. Natix (Real-time Map Network) Users can download a dedicated camera app to collect geographical images and earn rewards. The market value is approximately 19.18 million USD.
