Bitcoin miners face pressure as hashrate rises above new highs
At block 901,152 on Friday, the Bitcoin network recorded its 12th difficulty adjustment of the year, falling 0.45% to 126.41 trillion. The next day, the hash rate peaked at 946 exahash per second (EH/s), surpassing the previous high of 943 EH/s.
Although the difficulty has slightly fallen, miners are still under pressure as revenue from mining has decreased compared to 30 days ago, with the hash price dropping from 55.53 USD per petahash per second (PH/s) to 52.92 USD. In the past 24 hours, miners earned an average of 3.17 BTC, with transaction fees contributing only 1.32%.
The block creation time is currently slower than the average of 10 minutes, and the next difficulty adjustment is expected on June 29, which may decrease by about 7.74%.
