On April 29, according to Axios, Democratic Representative Shri Thanedar of Michigan introduced seven articles of impeachment against Trump on Monday. The impeachment charges mainly involve accusations of obstruction of justice, abuse of power, usurpation of authority, as well as bribery and corruption, primarily related to the concentration of presidential power and personal finances. Thanedar stated in a press release that Trump "is unfit to hold the office of President and poses a clear and present threat to the nation's Constitution and democracy." Reports indicate that these impeachment measures are unlikely to pass due to the Republican Party currently controlling both houses of Congress.
