According to a report by Cointelegraph on April 25, the planning committee of Vilonia, Arkansas, unanimously rejected a proposal to establish a crypto mining facility. Local residents strongly opposed the project, primarily concerned about issues such as noise pollution, energy consumption, and environmental impact.

This is not the first time that the city has rejected crypto mining projects. In 2023, the city of Vilonia vetoed the mining facility application from Vilo AR and permanently revoked its license. The same year, residents also opposed Green Digital's proposal to build a mining facility near residential areas. In 2024, the Arkansas House of Representatives passed two bills restricting crypto mining.
