Mexican President: Believes Congress will ban the planting of genetically modified corn in the country next year

Jinshi data news on December 22, Mexican President Claudia Sinbaum said on December 21 local time that she expects Congress to approve a ban on the cultivation of genetically modified corn in the country early next year. The day before, a trade dispute resolution panel ruled that Mexico's restrictions on the export of genetically modified corn from the United States violated the USMCA. "With the help of the Mexican Congress, we will overturn this ruling, as soon as, in February, they will legislate, and I am sure you cannot grow genetically modified corn," Sinbaum said at a public event. The Mexican Congress is dominated by the ruling party.
